Krystyn Firka

After spending several years working for not-for-profit in communications and fund development at the Ontario Chiropractic Association and Scientists in School, Krystyn became inspired to use her skills in the Mental Health Sector. By combining her passion for connecting with others and advocacy, she hopes to provide a voice to those who are struggling to be heard.

Krystyn is currently a crisis line volunteer at the Distress Centre Durham and serves on the Durham Family Court Clinic Board since 2015. Krystyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Guelph, a Post-Graduate Certificate from Humber College, and is currently pursuing her Post-Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Durham College. Born and raised in Durham, Krystyn hopes to give back to the community she has been a part of all her life.
